Lemon Marmalade Cake
Here are a couple of photos. The first one is from my kitchen and I thought the green depression glass (thanks Grandma Smith) and the pink roses with my stained glass window look so beautiful. The second pic is of a delicious cake I made up and I will tell you how I did it. Take a white cake and for 1/2 of the water add lemon juice, meyer lemon works the best along with about a TBL of grated lemon rind then add other ingredients as listed. Spray your baking pans with coating then put thin slices of lemon on the bottom. Bake. When cool flip one on the plate, frost with meyer lemon marmalade and frosting made with lemon juice and butter. Take the next layer and flip it so that the lemon slices are in the middle. Frost top with the marmalade and lemon buttercream. It is delicious and so cool and refreshing!! enjoy.
Update on Eydie Gorme
When I checked the Steve & Eydie website it says that Eydie is no longer performing. I checked her age and she is 79 y/o!! (lots older than me; scouts honor!) That means when we saw them she was 74!! Wowsers... In any case I wish them all the best and hope she is O.K. and just retired.

Am I really this old?
O.K. I know that when you find this out, you will know that I am old. I love Steve and Eydie (http://www.steveandeydie.com/ ). I listen to their music quite a bit and picked up this album because of its cover. Isn't it cute? It epitomizes the late 60s and early 70s. We went to see them about 5 yrs ago and I shook Steve Lawrence's hand!! Talk about senior citizens. I know they are about 5 yrs older than I am and still performing!! Enjoy

Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista Missions
Below you will see Santa Cruz Mission on the Left top. This is a small rebuilt mission about 1/4 of the orig size. The rest of the pics are from San Juan Bautista Mission (my mission). I will put more photos into my Foki album here www.fotki.com/onegdnurse1 and pick the mission album . Please visit and donate to our California Missions as they need money to survive and hopefully be here to maintain the history of our great state.

Wow that template backing was dynamite!!
Whoa, I don't know if you saw the template backing I had for Easter, but it was giving me a headache so I ditched it. I am going to put in pics from "My Mission" San Juan Bautista. I grew up near here and it is my favorite of all the missions. It also has the largest church of all the missions. For some reason some deluded builder decided that the cupola needed to be added as in the old pic above, but some kind soul finally took it down!! Plus there are beautiful chickens running all over town. How great is that? Sorry I have been away, but work and home stuff, you know!! I will get those pics in soon. Hope everyone is well!! Ta Ta, Deb
